Faith Is Substance

 “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.” As a young Christian, I was beholden to a few scriptures which you recite and learn.  At times, these crude attempts never did justice to the poetry and philosophy within the lines of Biblical verse. However, as with all things, wisdom comes with age...ALWAYS! Lately, I have been in a suspended loop of questions and reflections regarding this idea of faith. Yet, we can apply faith effortlessly to so many things that ride the subconscious of our daily lives from minimal task to existential contemplations of spiritual awareness. But in this moment, where is faith? Better question, where is my faith when I need her?  In the midst of this pandemic and politics, I am reeling from what I see and feel. The cacophony of tyrannical rants served on beds of complicity are deafening. Thoughts explode across the backdrop of my mind....What are we doing? Is anybody listening? Then it slams into your bein...
